UNO DreamMakers Scholarship

The UNO DreamMakers Scholarship is awarded to incoming first year students at UNO who have declared a minor in Cross-Sector Collaborative Leadership.

Homelessness. Climate Change. Human Rights. Education. These complex challenges require leaders to work together and across sectors to find solutions. By bringing together corporate, government, nonprofit and military leaders, navigating these vexing challenges can happen through collaboration and cooperation.
The Next Generation Service Corp and UNO’s Cross-Sector Collaborative Leadership Minor are one of the first leadership development programs that trains students from all majors to address these challenges. Students develop interdisciplinary networks and experience firsthand how collaboration among the public, private, nonprofit and military sectors can create meaningful change locally and globally.
The benefits and resources of this minor go beyond the classroom and the UNO campus. Students will have access to a larger social and learning network thanks to the support of the Volker Alliance’s Next Generation Service Corp. A social media platform called NextGen Connect was developed for students in the minor to network and connect with other students in similar programs across campuses in the U.S.

Applicants to be considered are incoming first-year students who will begin the Cross-sector Collaborative Leadership Minor starting Fall 2022. This minor can work with any UNO major.
