Ernie Gorr Talent Scholarship

The Ernie Gorr Scholarship is provided to an RLS student in memory of Ernie Gorr, a long time UNO Recreation Faculty member. Ernie Gorr was a teacher and coach at Omaha University for more than 20 years and a Midwest Region National Parks and Recreation Award winner. This award recognizes an RLS major with an overall GPA of 3.0 or better and who is actively involved with recreation related professional organizations such as Nebraska Recreation and Park Association, National Recreation and Park Association, American Therapeutic Recreation Association, SHAPE America, and the American Association for Leisure and Recreation.

The Ernie Gorr Talent Scholarship is awarded to candidates that have demonstrated exceptional talent in the area of Recreation and Leisure Studies. Recipients must agree not to accept a total merit based scholarship package exceeding the cost of their tuition and fees.
