Jo Ann Carrigan Scholarship/Fellowship

The UNO Department of History is pleased to offer the Jo Ann Carrigan Scholarship to incoming graduate students pursuing a Master’s Degree in History every fall and spring semester of the academic year. The number of scholarships available during a given academic year may vary based on the availability of funding.

The scholarship will cover the tuition costs and associated fees of
1. the recipient’s first eighteen credit hours and
2. the recipient’s last three credit hours of course work – if completed within a four-semester time frame.
Award preference will be merit-based. To apply, the prospective student must indicate their interest in being considered for the scholarship by indicating “Y” to the question “Assistantship Interest?” in their graduate program application. The applicant pool will be subject to review by the Graduate Program Committee.
Incoming students who receive a graduate assistantship will generally not be eligible for this scholarship.
Graduate program application deadline for financial consideration for Fall 2025 is February 15, 2025.
