Honors Program Application

Holistic Application Approach

UNO’s Honors Program takes a holistic approach to applications, so the two required essays really matter as we consider them alongside other data, including but not limited to:

• Evidence of advanced writing and critical thinking skills (demonstrated in an essay)
• Evidence of intellectual, academic, and community engagement and commitment (demonstrated in essay and resume/CV)
• Composite ACT or combined SAT
• High school class rank (if available) and high school GPA

Please note that your essays for the Honors Program application will also (if eligible) be considered for the Distinguished and Honors Merit Scholarships if received before February 1st; there are specific ACT and HS GPA requirements for eligibility for those scholarship applications, as stipulated in the funding agreements.
