Louise Coe Spire Memorial Scholarship

The Louise Coe Spire Memorial Scholarship commemorates the life of Louise Spire. Louise lived in Omaha her entire life, with the exception of her college years. She graduated from Benson High School in 1974, from Hastings College in 1978, and received a MSW from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1985. Louse spent many years working with families and children at Head Start, Uta Halee Girls Village, Richard Young Hospital, Douglas County, and the Child Saving Institute. The amount of the scholarship varies.

Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility for the Louise Coe Spire Memorial Scholarship includes, but is not limited to:
1.Regular (consistent) enrollment in an undergraduate degree program housed in the College of Public Affairs and Community Service (CPACS);
2.Sophomore, junior, or senior class standing;
3.A cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above;
4.Demonstrated financial need; and,
5.Current, on-going involvement in volunteer activities in the community, preferably related to youth organizations.
